goodbye melbourne!

this is my last post from this beautiful city, and i am happy and excited and sad and nervous and everything in between, seriously!

so i just got back from one last confest with a wonderful team of friends, had one last music jam with friends last night, and still have lots of packing and sorting to do, before leaving tmw morning.  gah! 

thank you to everyone who made my stay here as amazing as it was (you know who you are....) and the dirty dumpling jam was definitely a great way to say goodbye!  i'm sorry i still haven't posted pictures, but i will soon i promise.  i totally felt the love and it was just incredible to watch everyone get into it-- the dumplings and the music. magic. a few friends have told me that they have since been making their own dumplings at home, and have been going out looking for the ingredients, showing their friends-- awesome.

hey if anyone is looking for the pastry skins-- which are the only thing that might be a bit obscure to find-- you can get them at pretty much any of the shops along victoria street in north richmond. there are a few different brands, and the quality can vary. so, if you avoid the one that says 'gyoza skins' then you'll be fine.  unfortunately they are all packaged quite similarly, so you'll have to look carefully.  alternatively, selina has posted below a very simple recipe for making your own!  i suppose it just depends on how ambitious you're feeling at the time..

so, a few people mentioned that they thought it might be nice for this to be a regular thing!  that would be so rad. and a couple of my friends are thinking about carrying this on again, maybe a couple of times a year.  SO, if anyone has any feedback, or is interested in being a part of the next one, just shout back on here and i'll give you the appropriate contact details in melbourne. and if nothing else, we'll be holding another one in portugal when we get ourselves set up.  woohoo!!
